The Keystone Identity Server allows users to authenticate and obtain a token which can be used for accessing other cloud services. Our updated version of Keystone allows users to authenticate using external identity provision. The original software was developed as a piece of middleware that intercepted messages to Keystone and processed the external authentication. The latest version utilises the authentication 'plugin' feature introduced in the 'Grizzly/Havana' release of Openstack, this allows for a much more streamlined and integrated solution. The middleware version will be referred to as 'V2' whilst the plugin will be referred to as 'V3'.
