Student Travel Grants

CMS'2012 would like to encourage student participation in the conference by subsidizing the travel costs of individuals who would otherwise be unable to attend the conference. Google Inc. supports this conference with a limited number of student travel grants.

Who can apply?

Any student of good standing, regardless of nationality, or any other criteria may apply. The decisions will be based as much as possible on both what the individual may get from the conference and may bring to the conference. CMS'2012 may cover the student registration costs and/or subsidize the travel costs. The maximum grant, however, will be 500 euro. While any student may apply for this travel support, the selection process will give preference to students without sufficient travel funding.

How to Apply

Students should provide:
  • a completed Application for Travel Support form [HERE]
  • their current CV
  • a letter of support from the student's advisor confirming that the student is of good standing and indicating the level of monetary support necessary for the student to attend
  • a personal statement of research from the student explaining the reason to attend CMS'2012

Applications and supporting letters for a student travel grant should be emailed to the Program Chair Bart De Decker (bart.dedecker [_at_] cs.kuleuven.be) between June 1, 2012 and June 30, 2012. Applications submitted outside of the submission period are not guaranteed to be considered. Notification Award notifications will be announced by July 15, 2012.
